Welcome to RateThisPlateNY -- where we keep it simple. No drawn out restaurant reviews or in depth analysis of service and decor. Our mission is to uncover the best individual dishes in New York City, so you don't waste your time ordering a bad menu item, even at a great restaurant.
Every week, we rate the dishes we try on a scale of 1-25 based loosely on the criteria below. By clicking on each number, you can access a page featuring each plate that has received that respective rating.
25 - Absolutely delicious. One of the best things I've ever eaten. 24 - This is amazing. Can't wait to tell all my friends about it. 23 - Every bite melts in my mouth. Can't wait to make it back here. 22 - Definitely the best thing I've eaten all week. Is there crack in here? 21 - I'm in love. With this plate. Now let's get married. 20 - I think I might dream about this later tonight. 19 - Far exceeded my expectations. 18 - Yum yum in my tum tum. 17 - I would like to thank whoever made this. Definitely made my night. 16 - I wish this place was closer so I could come back more often. 15 - In the upper tier of dishes I've had. Quite enjoyable. 14 - Solid New York food experience. This is what food should taste like. 13 - Slightly above average. But that's what I expected here. 12 - Average Joe. But what's wrong with average? 11 - Flavorful. Yet still missing that extra something I was looking for. 10 - I like this dish. Doesn't give me butterflies in my stomach though. 9 - Decent. On the right track, but still not there. 8 - Sub par experience, but I'd give it another shot at some point. 7 - Must have been an off night. Food should taste better than this. 6 - Nothing to write home about. 5 - Probably should have stayed at home and cooked tonight. 4 - I guess the chef called out sick today. 3 - We live in NYC. Aren't we suppose to have the world's best food? 2 - They call this food? Yuck. 1 - Absolutely disgusting. On the toilet all night long.
